Domains have a specific lifecycle. Understanding these statuses will help you avoid losing your domain name.
Common Domain Statuses:
- Active: The domain is registered, paid for, and fully functional.
- Pending Transfer: The domain is in the process of being transferred to or from CloudZex.
- Expired: The domain has passed its expiration date. Websites and emails will stop working. You can still renew it during the grace period (usually 30 days) without extra fees.
- Redemption Period: After the grace period, the domain enters redemption. Renewing it now will cost a significant penalty fee determined by the registry.
How to Renew Your Domain:
CloudZex generates a renewal invoice 14 days before your domain expires. You can simply pay this invoice to renew the domain automatically. You can also renew early by going to Domains -> My Domains, clicking on your domain, and selecting Renew.
