Quick answer: DNS records must be edited where your nameservers point. If your domain uses the CloudZex domain nameservers, use the DNS tab in My domains → Manage. If it uses dns1.cloudzex.com and dns2.cloudzex.com for hosting, use the DNS zone editor in your hosting control panel. If it uses Cloudflare or another provider, edit the records there.
Common record types
- A: points a name to an IPv4 address.
- CNAME: points a name (usually www or a subdomain) to another name.
- MX: tells the internet which mail server receives your email.
- TXT: used for verification and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Tips
- Change one thing at a time and note the old value first.
- Most changes work within 5 to 30 minutes. Some take up to 24 hours.
- The DNS tab is not available for every domain extension (for example .bd domains only have Nameservers).
