Managing Custom DNS Records (A, CNAME, MX)

Jul 26, 2026 26 views

If you want to use external services (like Google Workspace for emails or Shopify for your store), you will need to add custom DNS records.

Common DNS Record Types:

  • A Record: Points your domain to a specific IPv4 address.
  • CNAME Record: Points your domain (usually a subdomain like www) to another domain name.
  • MX Record: Directs email traffic to a specific mail server (e.g., Google or Outlook servers).
  • TXT Record: Usually used for domain verification and email authentication (SPF, DKIM).

Where to Add Them:

DNS records must be added where your nameservers are pointing. If you are using our nameservers, you can manage your DNS records via the DNS Manager or Zone Editor in your Control Panel at https://panel.cloudzex.com/, or directly from your CloudZex Client Area.
