Quick answer: your VPS is set up by our team. The server IP and the root password arrive by email. Connect with an SSH client using ssh root@your_server_ip. For a reboot, an operating system reinstall or any change you cannot do yourself, open a support ticket from your client area.
Connect with SSH
- Use an SSH client: PuTTY on Windows, or Terminal on Mac and Linux.
- Run
ssh root@your_server_ipand enter the root password from your welcome email. - Change the root password at once with
passwd.
Good habits
- Use SSH keys instead of a password when you can, and keep the system updated.
- Take your own backups of important data before big changes.
- If you lose access or the server does not respond, open a ticket with your server IP and a short description.
The client area does not have reboot or reinstall buttons for VPS plans. Our support team does these for you when you ask in a ticket.
